Knoxville Habitat for Humanity has an ongoing need for subcontractors and vendors to support our mission of building and maintaining affordable homeownership opportunities. In addition, Knoxville Habitat periodically invites contractors to bid on upcoming major projects.
Current Bid Opportunities
The Plains Subdivision
OPEN FOR BID
The Plains is Knoxville Habitat’s newest subdivision, located in the Carter community just off Asheville Highway near Strawberry Plains Pike. The subdivision will include 74 homes built in a twin-home format.
Knoxville Habitat is currently soliciting bids for the construction of four homes in two structures on Lots 11–12 and 21–22. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026.

Subcontractor/Vendor Application
Contractors and suppliers must complete the New Subcontractor/Vendor Application to be considered for construction and/or repair work or to bid on major projects.

Pinehurst Subdivision
Knoxville Habitat for Humanity will extend invitations to bid on certain items and services for the infrastructure development of our new subdivision in East Knoxville.
Bidding is expected to open in fall 2026. Check back for updates.
Ready to Work With Knoxville Habitat?
Knoxville Habitat for Humanity works with subcontractors and vendors to support new home construction and home repair projects. These opportunities are managed separately, but subcontractors and vendors interested in either area can begin by completing the New Subcontractor/Vendor Application.
New Home Construction
Knoxville Habitat partners with subcontractors and vendors across a variety of trades to support ongoing new home construction.
To be considered for this work, complete the New Subcontractor/Vendor Application and select New Construction as your area of interest. The application will guide you through all required information, applicable Scope of Work requirements, the Subcontractor/Vendor Agreement and required documentation.
Applications will be reviewed, and approved applicants may be included in future requests for proposals.
Home Repairs
Knoxville Habitat works with subcontractors and vendors across a variety of trades to support home repair projects.
To be considered for this work, complete the New Subcontractor/Vendor Application and select Home Repairs as your area of interest. The application will guide you through the required information, applicable Scope of Work requirements, the Subcontractor/Vendor Agreement and required documentation.
Bid and project-specific information will be provided as opportunities become available.
Funding & Procurement Requirements
Knoxville Habitat utilizes both private and public funding. Depending on the project and funding source, contractors and vendors may be subject to additional grant conditions, reporting requirements and applicable federal, state and local procurement requirements.
New Construction
Funding may include New Markets Tax Credits, THDA, HUD, State of Tennessee ARPA grants, Knox County ARPA and/or CDBG grants, City of Knoxville Development Funding and/or CDBG, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati (FHLB), the East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) and other funding sources.
Some projects may utilize public grant sourced funding which requires additional reporting requirements (supporting Buy America Build America and Section 3 Business Certification). Applicable forms and/or reporting requirements are discussed before work is awarded on any grant associated project.
Home Repairs
Funding for home repair projects may include the East Tennessee Foundation (ETF), Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati (FHLB) and THDA Emergency Repair Program.
Depending on the project and funding source, applicable requirements may include Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109 and E.O. 11246.
Subontractors and vendors must comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and procurement requirements associated with the projects they perform.
Build With Us Beyond the Jobsite
Working with Knoxville Habitat can go beyond contracted projects. Subcontractors, vendors and local companies can also support our mission by volunteering, sponsoring a build, contributing materials or services, or making a financial gift.
Together, we can help expand affordable homeownership opportunities and strengthen communities across Knoxville.
