Subcontractor Application
Subcontractor Rules Pertaining to All Projects
All contractors, suppliers & their employees must adhere to these rules on all jobsites managed by Knoxville Habitat for Humanity (KHFH). Violations may result in back-charges per violation or revocation of contract.
Parties
- Knoxville Habitat for Humanity – hereinafter referred to as Contractor or KHFH
- Vendor or subcontracted firm – hereinafter referred to as Subcontractor
- Current or future homeowner/occupant of the property – hereinafter referred to as Owner
General Rules
- Possession or use of Alcohol, Illegal Drugs, or Weapons is strictly prohibited
- Tobacco use, including the use of smokeless tobacco or vaping is prohibited on all jobsites
- Loud music is prohibited
- Use of profanity or insulting language is prohibited
- Courtesy should be extended to the Owner and to workers from any other contractor on site.
- Appropriate clothing for the job should be worn at all times. Clothing should be free of any offensive words or graphics, should not be excessively revealing, and should offer protection appropriate to the job and conditions.
- Technical, contractual, or work-related questions should be directed to KHFH and not to theOwner.
- Never use Owner’s personal property. This includes toilet, tools, appliances, furniture, etc.
- Never enter the Owner’s dwelling without permission and only enter areas that are directly and immediately necessary to complete work.
- Never request favors of any sort from Owner.
Clean Up and Safety
- All contractors are expected to maintain their area of responsibility and to ensure the jobsite is cleaned by day’s end. There shall be absolutely no debris of any sort left on the jobsite.
- Contractors will ensure the safe work of their employees at all times. Workers must be trained in safe procedures for the job, operate safe and functioning equipment, and adhere to allOSHA/TOSHA safety regulations.
- Use portable toilets, most projects will have toilets provided by KHFH.
Security of the Owner’s Property
- The last person to leave must lock up the house.
- If there is any problem locking the house, you are required to contact The Habitat Manger/office before you leave the house.
Parking of Vehicles
- You are responsible to protect the Owner’s property against damage. If vehicle leaks, protective measures are to be implemented immediately.
- Parking on the street is recommended when practical.
- Parking in the driveway is not permitted for repair projects at occupied homes.
