Who We Are
Our Story
Since our founding in 1985, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity has been a beacon of hope in the Knoxville area, embodying the spirit of community and shared effort. As an independent nonprofit and an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, we focus on building affordable homes in partnership with families who invest hundreds of hours of labor into their future residences. Our journey from renovating homes to constructing entire subdivisions highlights our commitment to addressing the housing crisis. Through education programs on fiscal responsibility and home maintenance, we ensure that families are prepared for sustainable homeownership. Our homes, built by volunteers and sold at no profit with no-interest mortgages, are not only affordable but also decent, featuring energy-efficient designs and modern amenities. As we look to the future, Knoxville Habitat for Humanity remains dedicated to enriching lives, fostering community development, and building a brighter tomorrow for all.
